Between a Hollywood superstar and a voice actor, the latter realistically works harder. It is quite tough for a voice actor to put feelings and emotions to what he is reading, all the while knowing that he’s not seen on screen. The voice actor must be able to empathize with the persona that he portrays and make sure that he breathes life into the script. This is where voice over training comes into play.

Voice over artists are able to master the craft of voice acting and find good employment in this field by going through voice over training. There are 1000s of cartoon and animated TV shows, web shows, TV/radio advertisements, web videos, and movies being made continually. Take note that about 20 to 30 characters make up the cast of just one movie or TV show. The prospects for a voice talent basically abound internationally.

Voice over training course – the fundamental skills that you ought to possess

One of the most important tools of the trade is diction. The student must have perfect enunciation and for that reason must attend speech classes to get his diction right. Every voice over actor has two roles to fulfill – “lending voice” and “acting.” So, fantastic diction is not enough to begin voice over training – the student must also enroll in an acting course prior to joining the voice over course.

What does a voiceover training program teach?

Assessing and interpreting commercial copy for announcer and real-person roles are learned by the student. He also learns how to interpret narrative copy and gets the hang of technical copy as well. The course educates the student how to proficiently coordinate mind, mouth and voice so that he can sound true to his character. Taking direction is also learned by the student.

Reading, recording, play back, and listening are done over and over again in an excellent voice talent training course. This is done in order for students to get it correctly. Students learn techniques such as inflection, timing and articulation. They perform warm-ups and vocal exercises as well. They figure out how to preserve their vocal health. When students are already half-way into the voice over training program, they become skilled at using and adjusting pitch, tone, volume and delivery speed to meet the needs of various types of jobs.

Once a student completes the training, he learns how to market his skills, tap proper contacts, and land voice over work. Instructors of the voice over course also help them in creating a voice over demo, which would become part of their portfolio. An opportunity to experience working in a real studio is offered in a solid voice over training course for students. They also learn what the do’s and don’ts are whenever they are behind the microphone or in a sound booth.

Selecting a voice over training program

There are two facets to voice training. Students who are attracted in selling must opt for a commercial voice over course. Commercial voice overs are used for selling. TV advertisements, radio ads, phone and other media feature these voice overs. The voice over course also covers selling skills because all commercial voice overs sell a product or a service. This program does not include acting skills. Students who are interested in showbiz must opt for a TV and movie voice over and dubbing course. Lip-synching is needed by such courses, hence, the voice over talent also must have to master acting skills.

To end, all the world’s a stage and we must play a part. So, if you want to play your part as a voice actor, enroll for a reputed voice actor training program and learn how to raise your voice.

Home, (ranch) home in the hood…
This Orlando, Florida location gets a bad rap for crime, but the ranch homes here are 1960′s wonderful. Bought it in 1993; it was advertised as a California Ranch Home. The house was custom built by the original owners, and has an Asian theme in the design and decor: in the pendant lamp styles, big yellow brick fireplace and the design in the wrought iron railings: a step down from the a curved, terrazzo-floored foyer is a sunken living room with a the fireplace at an angle, dividing the LR, DR and Study areas. There are triple sliding glass patio doors directly across from those red double doors. The dining room looks out at a courtyard which could be turned into a small Japanese garden; it has a pergola over a bricked patio to one side. An old, bent oak tree grows in the courtyard, close to the house and an attached garden shed/workshop. A tall pine tree grows through a cutout created in the roof of a screened "spa room" (hot tub), put there to save the tree when building the house. At one time this area was "the place" to live. There are gracious old water oaks in the front and back yards, overflowing with Spanish moss, and many long-leaf pine (very tall, brittle pine trees). There is a gorgeous Chinese Elm at the front right of the red brick driveway. One thing I wish I could change would for it to be a flat roof home instead of pitched.

Update 2012 – No longer living at this house. The neighborhood went so far down. The house was broken into, theived and vandalized over 8 times after I left; my former husband still lived in it for a couple years following; everything he owned was taken, and it was vandalized several times after he moved out. It’s now for sale by bank investors. My ex visited the property this week, and it’s been further vandalized. The air conditioner was stolen, wires ripped from the electrical box, and the dining room window broken again. The vandals previously spray painted the kitchen countertops, broke all the lighting fixtures and fans…very, very, very sad. I loved this house.

For Sale
This model has a custom gazebo in addition to the screened in porch, storage shed and landscaping. It looks like it has been vinyl sided at some point as well.

These things are really unique labors of love by their owners. They are fun to look at.

It is quite tough for a voice actor to put feelings and emotions to what he is reading, all the while knowing that he’s not seen on screen. He must jump into the skin of the character and pump life into the dialogues. It is in this area where voice over training is essential.

Voice over training aids voice actors learn the craft and find gainful employment in a growing area. Thousands of animated TV shows, cartoons, radio advertisements, web shows and movies are made on a regular basis. Take note that about 20 to 30 characters make up the cast of a single movie or TV show. There are global opportunities galore for a voice actor.

Basic skills needed to join a voice over training course

Assessing and interpreting commercial copy for announcer and real-person roles are learned by the student. He also learns how to interpret narrative copy and gets the hang of technical copy as well. Students learn how to coordinate the mind, mouth and voice efficiently, so that they may be able to sound really true to the personality they are playing. The student also learns how to take direction.

I happened to be sitting right in front of it…. so no, I wasn’t leaning over people while they were eating… except maybe my mom or my wife.

Hollywood Studios
Walt Disney World, FL

Below, is a little background on "some" of the landmarks shown. It’s that attention to detail that makes Disney what it is. They show how important it is to go that extra mile to immerse guests in an experience. During my research, I found that this map is extremely accurate (never been to Hollywood, but doing a lot of cross-referencing); and it really captures the essence of the Golden Age of Hollywood. I had a lot of fun doing this, but I don’t think I’ll ever do so much post-work for ONE picture again…. not anytime soon anyway. I guess a picture really is “worth a thousand words”. Enjoy!!!

(Note: During this time period, a lot of the hotels mentioned were used as apartment residences)

- Laurel Canyon is a canyon neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. It was first developed in the 1910s, and became a part of the city of Los Angeles in 1923.

- Grauman’s Chinese Theatre is a movie theater located along the historic Hollywood Walk of Fame. Headed by Sid Grauman, the theater opened on May 18, 1927 with the premiere of Cecil B. DeMille’s film The King of Kings. Among the theater’s most distinctive features are the concrete blocks set in the forecourt, which bear the signatures, footprints, and handprints of popular motion picture personalities from the 1920s to the present day.

- The Hollywood Hotel was a famous hostelry and landmark. Opening in 1902 (and razed in 1956), the hotel would eventually become home to many of the great stars in its day.

- The Seven Seas was once a popular island-themed nightclub that boasted live floor shows with music and dancers three times a night.

- "The Beachcombers" b.k.a. "Don the Beachcomber" – Donn Beach is the acknowledged founding father of tiki restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The many so-called "Polynesian" restaurants and pubs that enjoyed great popularity are directly descended from what he created. *** Disney connection: When Disney’s California Adventure opened in 2001, it included a small Don the Beachcomber at its Hollywood & Dine food court. It offered Chinese-style food, but did not serve alcoholic drinks. The restaurant closed within a few years. ***

- The Chateau Marmont hotel was built in 1927, and modeled loosely after the Château d’Amboise, in France’s Loire Valley. It has served as the backdrop for a number of events in the lives of well-known rock stars and actors.

- "A Drive-In"… is this the same spot as the current Mel’s Drive-In???

- The Roosevelt Hotel (named after Theodore Roosevelt) is a historic Spanish-style hotel that opened on May 15, 1927. In 1929, The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel hosted the presentation of the 1st Academy Awards. *** Hauntings: 1) Marilyn Monroe stayed in suite 246 which overlooked the pool side. A mirror which once hung in her room is now in the lobby, and is thought to be haunted by her spirit. A number of people also claim to have seen her ghost dancing in the ballroom of the hotel. 2) Montgomery Clift, who lived at the Roosevelt for three months at one time, is said to haunt his old room, 928. He stayed in this room for three months while filming From Here to Eternity. People claim to hear him playing his bugle and see him walking the hallways of the 8th floor.

- The Christie Hotel was the first of Hollywood’s luxury hotels. Arthur Kelley, a noted residential architect in the area, was commissioned in 1920 by H.H. Christie to design a prestigious edifice for Hollywood, and Kelley chose the Georgian Colonial Revival style for its traditional elegance.

- The original Hollywood Athletic Club and pool room is an art-deco landmark. It was the tallest building in L.A. when it was built in 1924 by the same architects who built Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. It was also the site of the very first Emmy Awards (in 1949).

- In 1924, the Hollywood Plaza Hotel was built to help accommodate the rapidly growing population of Hollywood.

- La Conga (uh-oh… a Disney painto) opened in 1937 when the Rhumba dance craze hit Hollywood. When patrons entered, they were greeted by a talking marionette named "Chiquita", then escorted to their tables.

- The Hollywood (American) Legion Stadium was one of the two major boxing venues of Los Angeles from the 1920s on.

- The West Coast Radio City opened in 1938, and served as headquarters to the NBC Radio Networks’ (Red and Blue) West Coast operations.

- Central Casting was created in 1926; being funded by the studios and operated by the Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America. It spent one year at its original location, before being moved to the Mayer Building at Hollywood Blvd and Western Ave.

- The Garden of Allah was a famous apartment complex in West Hollywood, California. Originally known as The Garden of Alla, its name is derived from the original owner, Alla Nazimova; and not from Islamic roots.

- The low-budget Grand National Studio produced the James Cagney films Great Guy and Something to Sing About.

- Charlie Chaplin Studios is a motion picture studio built in 1917 by silent film star Charlie Chaplin. Chaplin sold the studio in 1953. The studio would have numerous owners; but in 2000, it became the home of the Jim Henson Company.

- The original location for Hal Roach’s Studio, before zoning restrictions forced its move to Culver City, California. (don’t quote me on this one)

- The Vendome was a club that opened in 1933 by William R. "Billy" Wilkerson, the original developer of the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas.

- Howard Greer was a Hollywood fashion designer and costume designer in the Golden Age of American cinema. His work can be seen in such films as Bringing Up Baby and My Favorite Wife.

- Mitchell Leisen was an American director, art director, and costume designer. He entered the film industry in the 1920s, beginning in the art and costume departments.

- Columbia Studio – Founded in 1919 as Cohn-Brandt-Cohn Films Sales, the studio would later become Columbia Pictures Corporation. *** Disney Connection: distributed Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse cartoons in the early 1930s. ***

- Sunset Tower, which opened in 1931, was the residence of many Hollywood celebrities, including John Wayne and Howard Hughes.

- Phil Selznick was the owner of popular and notorious Sunset Strip night clubs Mocambo, Sphinx Club, and the It Cafe.

- Walter Wanger was an Academy Award-winning American film producer. Starting at Paramount, Wanger would eventually work with other major studios as either a contract producer or an independent.

- The Black-Foxe Military Institute was a private school (kindergarten through 12th grade) on both sides of Wilcox Ave. It was founded in 1928 by Hollywood developer and financier, Charles E. Toberman, and Majors Earle Foxe and Harry Lee Black.

- RKO (Radio-Keith-Orpheum) Pictures was one of the so-called Big Five studios of Hollywood’s Golden Age. Among the tremendous amount of entertainment produced, the studio would create one of the best films of all-time in Citizen Kane. *** Disney Connection: from 1936 to 1954, distributed Walt Disney’s features and shorts; including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. ***

- Paramount Pictures, founded in 1912, is the oldest existing American film studio.

- Opening as Glacier Palace in 1928, the Polar Palace was an ice rink where fans could go and show their love for hockey.

One thing that’s become obvious to me over the last few years is that there are no shortage of Disney fans that love to share their Disney content. And the content comes in all different shapes and sizes. Everything from podcasts, to online radio stations, to books, to blogs and articles, to fan websites, message forums, video sharing, picture sharing, and the list goes on. I’m very grateful for all of these types of fellow Disney geeks and I take advantage of nearly all the different types of free content available to give me my daily Disney fix. It really makes being a Disney fan that much more enjoyable (and addicting, I must admit). For me, as one can easily tell, I enjoy sharing my Disney photography. The reason is two fold for me. First and foremost, I became fascinated with creating and sharing photography – specifically Disney photography. Then, soon after I started sharing my photography online, I started to realize that many people actually enjoy my work and seeing the world of Disney through the lens of my camera. The latter is what really sealed the deal for me and has really kind of formed my addiction / obsession / hobby. Knowing that people actually enjoy my work really makes doing this all the more worthwhile and it has kind of become my way of giving back to the Disney community of content providers out there.

When I first joined Flickr I intended it to simply be a place to host pictures for my daily Disney photo blog, which I was going to name "Express Monorail". The intent was to have some tag line along the lines of "Step on board the Express Monorail for a nonstop journey to the magic of Disney Photography" or something like that. Many of you may remember when my Flickr moniker was that. At the time I had really no idea what Flickr was all about and honestly just thought it was another image hosting service. Little did I know that Flickr housed it’s own little (or large if you will) Disney photography community and it very quickly grew on me and I immediately felt at home. The blog went by the wayside very quickly when I realized that my Flickr photostream was getting much more attention than the blog. After awhile I got rid of the moniker "Express Monorail" and replaced it with Joe Penniston (°O°Joe) (Joe Penniston – my name and °O°Joe – the screen name for the various message forums I frequented). I made the switch because I was planning on sharing more personal photography and sharing with friends and family, so I didn’t want them thinking "what the heck is Express Monorail supposed to mean??". Well, as you can tell I rarely share non Disney photography, and don’t plan on it anytime soon on this photostream. If you want to see the rare occasion when I share personal photography (I really need to get better about that) friend me on Facebook.

I’ve always liked the idea of a "Daily Disney Photo" blog where I could share one Disney picture a day with anyone that cares to see. I’ve kind of gotten away from that here recently and have been very inconsistent with my entries. I want to bring that back and I’m going to start with changing my moniker back to Express Monorail. Also, I’m going to start a daily theme to coincide with my daily entries starting with Bokeh Wednesday (borrowing from the very popular Bokeh Wednesday Flickr group). Each day of the week I’ll have a different theme and hopefully I’ll be able to be more consistent and post one a day (except Sundays). So yeah – step onboard and grab a seat for your nonstop journey to the magical world of Disney Photography! "Please stand clear of the doors…Por favor mantengase alejado de las puertas." :=0)

Bokeh
Bokeh describes the rendition of out-of-focus points of light. Differing amounts of spherical aberration alter how lenses render out-of-focus points of light, and thus their bokeh. The word "bokeh" comes from the Japanese word "boke" (pronounced bo-keh) which literally means fuzziness or dizziness.

Question by getnabargain: How to write paperwork for house sale?
I and another person are joint tenants with rights of survivorship.the buyer will be making payments to me.The other person on deed has undischarged bankruptcy. This is my homestead residence,I have no bankruptcy or creditors. We are in Florida.House paid for.I have to be careful how it is written, because of the bankruptcy of other person.

Best answer:

Answer by susie
You should look into pre-paid legal services. Often your employer or credit card companies will offer it at a reduced rate instead of choosing an attorney out of the phone book. This seems like a complicated matter that would be easy to mess up as a do-it-yourselfer, and an attorney may have a better plan for you to resolve this.
